Based on the Stanley No. 102, it's perfect for quick spot planing tasks, edge chamfering and flush cutting. The smoothly cast brass lever cap tucks neatly into your palm, while the finger recess at the toe lets you provide just enough pressure for a balanced planing stroke. Slight adjustments to the knurled brass adjuster knob let you dial in the perfect shaving.

Use the Bench Dog Chisel Plane to reach into tight corners for smoothing imperfections or removing dried glue. It's also perfect for paring dowel ends and through-tenons flush with the surrounding surface, and for trimming edge banding. Because it has no sole ahead of the blade, you get full visibility and unrestricted access to almost any area. The sole behind the cutting edge registers the iron at the perfect angle for smooth, flush cuts.

A router plane is the ideal hand tool for cutting shallow mortises for hinges, inlay, intarsia, dados, grooves, or wherever else a precise depth is required. Loosely based on an early Stanley model, this version features a fine screw feed for micro-adjustable depth control and a square blade shaft that won't rotate under planing forces. The blade may also be reversed to face the back of the plane if you need to get into a corner. A removable fence is included for repeatable dados and rabbets.
